Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita

Set on the quieter, less-trampled east coast of the island, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is a zen-like hideaway on a secluded lagoon, surrounded by white-sand beaches and 64 acres of mature tropical gardens.

Guest rooms are located in stand-alone villas that boast private pools, independent gardens and open-air bathrooms. Mangrove and Garden Pool Villas are situated on the mainland, close to the resort’s facilities, while the Beach and Ocean Pool Villas are set on the resort’s 11-acre private island, along with the three-bedroom Presidential Suite. Residences are designed with families and groups of friends in mind and offer one to five bedrooms, private kitchens and open-plan lounge and dining areas that spill out onto terraces with heated infinity pools.

An exclusive beach is just a ten-minute boat ride away on picture-perfect Ile aux Cerfs. Four resort pools include a tiered infinity pool on sheltered Bambou Beach. Complimentary unlimited green fees are offered at two championship courses, the Ernie Els-designed course at Anahita and Bernhard Langer-designed course at Ile aux Cerfs. The overwater spa offers a dazzling array of treatments from its 12 enormous sea-facing suites. And kids are entertained with everything from line fishing and crab hunting to children’s yoga classes and tropical treasure hunts.

Restaurants range from modern French bistro Beau Champ, complete with open kitchen and water’s edge setting, to casual beachfront eatery La Plaz Beach Grill, where they’ve done away with bar stools and replaced them with hanging swings. In between is everything from contemporary Italian and hand-crafted cocktails to Asia-inspired seafood and Mauritian specialities.
