Round Hill Hotel & Villas

As you arrive through the rounded white gates and drive up the impressive tree-lined avenue, you can’t help but feel style, history and Old World glamour exuding from this greatly loved Caribbean gem.

Round Hill is a charming and luxurious beachfront resort with an emphasis on the highest levels of service. Accommodation comprises 26 individually owned villas, the 36-room Pineapple House, and new one-bedroom suites set into the hillside, all surrounded by 30 acres of lush tropical gardens.

Villas vary in size from two to six bedrooms, must be booked as a whole and come with a gardener, housekeeper and private chef. Interiors suggest a laidback, plantation-style elegance with wicker, mahogany or bamboo furniture, oversized sofas and wooden or tiled floors. Most have their own private pool and all face west, enjoying fabulous sunset and coastal views.

Rooms at Pineapple House are impeccably designed by Ralph Lauren (who owns a private villa here) and are just steps from the main infinity pool and glorious white-sand beach. Upstairs rooms have large louvered windows that fold back to take advantage of the breathtaking ocean views, while downstairs rooms offer cosy, secluded patios or balconies.

Couples looking for more than a hotel room but don’t require the size of a two-bedroom villa should consider the new one-bedroom suites, complete with private plunge pool and elevated views of the Caribbean Sea.

Restaurants feature Caribbean-inspired menus and vegetables picked from the property’s own organic garden, while facilities include the complimentary Pineapple Kids Club, tennis courts, various watersports, a cutting-edge fitness centre and a double-edge infinity pool. The resort is also home to the only ELEMIS spa in the Caribbean, located in a beautifully restored 18th-century plantation house.
